The Friends of the Museum administers a number of specialized Museum programs that involve community members with particular maritime interests.
The Beaufort Oars is a community based, traditional rowing club that encourages enjoyment on the water, social activity, and exercise.

The Beaufort Women's Sailing Club brings together women from all backgrounds and experience levels to share their love of sailing.
The Carolina Maritime Model Society is the only such organization in the entire state and has widened public interest in North Carolina's maritime history and culture..
The National Traditional Small Craft Association, an educational organization, works to preserve and continue the living traditions of working and pleasure watercraft.
The North Carolina Maritime Museum expanded the Beaufort Oars program with the Sliding Seat Rowing Club in 2005. Clinics and training available.
The best way to get more out of your membership at the North Carolina Maritime Museum is to join and participate in one of our Community Clubs.
Membership with the Friends of the North Carolina Maritime Museum is required to participate in the Community Clubs. For more information on any of these activities feel free to contact the Friends' office at 252-728-1638.
